2015 Festival Program

The 1st Lansum International Music Festival, will take place on July 21-31, 2015, which is open to 5-27 year old young musicians of strings, winds, piano and voice, for solo, duo, duet, trio, quartet or other ensemble performances. This year, the festival theme will be Music of the Romantic Era.

2015 Music Festival & Competition Application Deadline:

Regular Application: by May 15, 2015

Late Application: no later than May 31, 2015

 .Music Festival Academy/Performance Courses:

1. Full Festival Academy Courses: July 21 – July 31, 2015

2. Session I Festival Academy Courses:  July 21 – July 26, 2015

3. Session II Festival Academy Courses:  July 26 – July 31, 2015

* July 21 of Session I, or July 26 of Session II, is a registration date.

 

. Our Academy Program:

. Before the Festival:

Young musicians will prepare the solo or chamber music pieces before May 15, 2015. Sending their performance videos or CDs to the festival organization, when they apply for the festival academy/performance courses.

We will select the participants for one chamber music piece as well as keeping their solo work.

*The chamber music, includes duo, duet, trio, quartet or others ensemble performance. After the participants fill out their preferences, we will select them for the ensemble performance pieces.

 

. During the Festival:

Mornings at the festival will begin with group classes that encourage students to deepen their understanding of the history behind the music of the Romantic Era and to integrate musical literacy with performance.

The afternoons will continue with solo and group practice sessions, private lessons, master classes, and chamber music workshops.Students will have extensive opportunities to interact with world-class musicians, to collaborate with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds, and to share their appreciation for classical music.

During the evenings, our renowned master artists will perform concerts that are open to the general public.

At the end of academy courses in the festival, all students will be selected to perform in a final concert to showcase the fruits of their hard work with solo or ensemble performance, and to stage their tremendous talent.

 

. After the Festival:

The best performers of strings, winds, piano, and voice in different age groups will be invited to perform concerto with the symphony orchestra in the concerts in Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, or Houston.
